Christopher Alan Pallies, known as
King Kong Bundy, is about to celebrate his 58th birthday on November 7th. Born in Atlantic City, New Jersey, King Kong Bundy is an American pro-wrestler, stand-up comedian, and actor. He achieved mainstream recognition during the 1980’s and 90’s through being apart of the World Wrestling Federation (WWF, but now called WWE).

A big man at 6’ 4", King Kong Bundy’s would never be mistaken as a wallflower. During his pro-wrestling career, his weight fluctuated between 440-502 lbs. Interestingly enough, Chris used a number of names during his wrestling career including: Boom Boom Bundy, Big Daddy Bundy, Chris Cannon, Crippler Cannon, Chris Canyon, and even Man Mountain Canyon – all in addition to the one that stuck, King Kong Bundy.
When Chris was originally discovered and developed, he was known as Big Daddy Bundy. According to Wikipedia, this name was “a combination of Shirley Crabtree's "Big Daddy" moniker and the surname of psychopathic serial killer, Ted Bundy."
Because of his size, in the wrestling ring, Bundy always asked for a count to five, rather than the standard count to three. This was said so he could show just how badly he’d dominated his opponent.
Bundy lost his 300 consecutive victories winning streak to Hulk Hogan in 1985 during WrestleMania 2, where he battled Hulk for the WWE Championship. He’s held a number of wrestling “feuds" with some of the greats from Hulk Hogan, to Little Beaver, and even Andre the Giant.
Though he retired from wrestling in 2006, his twenty-five year career is one of legends. Many people today still talk about Bundy and the impact his career had in the professional wrestling circuits.
Chris is currently trying his hand at a stand-up comedy career, which he’s said to be pretty darn good at. You can follow his Twitter feed, for stories of past wrestling glory days and for occasional jokes.
In the 80’s and 90’s, he was given roles in the television show, Married… With Children; both as Uncle Irwin (Peggy Bundy’s brother), and as King Kong Bundy, himself. He’s done a number of small, independent films throughout the years.
Ever since Chris Pallies, the great King Kong Bundy, made a scene in the wrestling arena, he’s been entertaining the masses. It appears with his comedy, today is no exception.
When asked in an interview how long he plans to do stand-up comedy, the wrestler-turned-comedian replied, "I'll do it until I drop dead."
