Pradaxa (Dabigatran) is used to prevent blod clots and to reduce the risk of stroke in people with atrial fibrillation (irregular heart rhythm). Pradaxa keeps the platelets in your blood from clotting. Preventing these blood clots will help reduce the risk of a stroke. This medication is also used to prevent blood clots in people who have had total hip replacement or knee replacement surgery.

We currently have the brand Pradaxa that comes from UK and Turkey manufactured by Boehringer Ingelheim. It is available in the strength of 75mg, 110mg and 150mg capsule. Our Canadian Pharmacy also carries
Eliquis.
Serious side effects include:
• Any bleeding that will not stop;
• Bloody, black or tarry stools;
• Constipation or diarrhea;
• Heavy menstrual bleeding;
• Indigestion or heartburn;
• Joint pain or swelling;
• Skin rash or itching;
• Upset stomach
You should not take Pradaxa if you are allergic to Dabigatran or if you have an artificial heart valve or if you have any active bleeding from a surgery, injury or other cause. This medication can also make it easier for you to bleed even from minor injuries. Do not stop taking this medication without your doctor’s advice. It is unknown whether Pradaxa will harm an unborn baby. Inform your doctor if you are pregnant or plan to become pregnant while using this medication. It is unknown whether Dabigatran passes into breast milk of if it could harm a nursing baby. There may be an interaction between Dabigatran and other medications such as atorvastatin, carvedilol, clopidogrel, itraconazole warfarin, etc.
