Peridex (Chlorhexidine 0.12%) is a prescription medication used to treat gingivitis (redness and swelling of the gum). Gingivitis is a gum disease that results in red, swollen, and bleeding gums. Peridex is used along with regular brushing and flossing. The active ingredient in Peridex is Chlorhexidine. Chlorhexidine belongs to a class of drugs called antimicrobials. It works by decreasing the bacteria load in the mouth to reduce swelling and redness of the gums and bleeding when brushing.
We currently offer the brand Peridex from Canada manufactured by ANB Canada in the strength of 0.12%/475 ml oral rinse. The generic version is not available.
