Jardiance (Empagliflozin) is an oral anti-diabetic medication used to treat type 2 diabetes mellitus. Jardiance should be taken together along with diet and exercise. Empagliflozin works by helping the kidneys get rid of glucose from the bloodstream and lowering the blood sugar levels. It is the first diabetes drug that it can lower the risk of heart attack or stroke, or death from cardiovascular disease. Jardiance is not used for treatment of type 1 diabetes or for people with diabetes ketoacidosis. Take Jardiance exactly as prescribed.

We currently stock brand Jardiance comes from Canada and UK manufactured by Boehringer Ingelheim. It is available in 10 mg and 25 mg tablet form. There is no generic version of Jardiance available.
The very common side effects of Jardiance include:
• Increased cholesterol or fats in the blood;
• Low blood sugar (dizziness, drowsiness, headache, weakness);
• Kidney problems;
• Urinary tract infection
If you have experienced any severe side effects include allergies, dehydration, vaginal yeast infection, or male genital yeast infection, please inform your doctor or pharmacist immediately.
Do not take Jardiance if you are allergic to Empagliflozin or any of the ingredients in the medication. Tell your doctor about your medical history and all the medications you are taking, especially if you have:
• Bladder infections;
• Low blood pressure;
• Kidney disease;
• Urination problems;
• If you are in a state of diabetic ketoacidosis;
• If you are on a low salt diet;
• If you are taking blood pressure medications, diuretic drugs (or water pills), using insulin or other diabetes medications;
• If you are 65 years or older
It is not known whether Jardiance passes into breastmilk or if it could harm a nursing baby. Consult with your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
