Zymar Eye Drops (Gatifloxacin) is a prescription medication used to treat bacterial conjunctivitis (pink eye). Pink eye is an infection that affects the conjunctiva, the clear membrane that covers the white part of the eye. Symptoms include redness, itching, burning, discharge, a gritty feeling in the eye, swollen eyelids, and increased tearing. The active ingredient in Zymar Eye Drops is Gatifloxacin. Gatifloxacin belongs to a class of medications known as fluoroquinolone antibiotics. It works by inhibiting the enzymes that are essential for the bacteria's growth and survival, killing the bacteria.
