Vyloma (Imiquimod cream) is used to treat external genital and perianal warts caused by the human papillomavirus. It belongs to a group of medications called immune response modifiers. It works by stimulating the body’s defenses to fight certain types of skin conditions.

The brand name Vyloma cream is from Canada manufactured by Valeant. Vyloma comes in sachet and pump form, available in 3.75% and 3.75%/7.5 gm cream.
Contact your doctor as soon as possible if you experience any of the following side effects:
• An increase in blood pressure;
• Any signs or symptoms in the treatment area that bothers you;
• Any signs or symptoms that make it difficult to continue applying the medication;
• Flu-like symptoms (fever, chills, headache, muscle aches, nausea);
• Open sore or scabs on skin;
• Pain in the chest;
• Painful or swollen joints;
• Rash;
• Symptoms of an infection (coughing, runny nose, sore throat, swollen glands)
Do not use Vyloma if you are allergic to Imiquimod or any of the other ingredients in this medication. You should avoid or minimiza any exposure to sunlight during treatment due to an increased risk of sunburn. New warts may develop during treatment with this cream but may clear with treatment. Avoid sexual contact while the cream is on your skin if it was applied to the external genital area. There may be an interaction between Imiquimod and other medications such as corticosteroids, live vaccines, natalizumab, etc.
