Vivelle Dot (Estradiol-17B) is used to treat certain symptoms ofmenopause such as hot flashes, vaginal dryness, burning and irritation. It may also be used to prevent postmenopausal osteoporosis, or to treat ovarian disorders. Vivelle Dot works by releasing estrogen through the skin into the bloodstream.

We currently have the brand Estradot coming from Canada and UK manufactured by Novartis. The generic comes from Canada manufactured by Sandoz is also known as Estradiol Derm. It may come from other countries around the world. The medication is available in the strength of 25mcg, 37.5mcg, 50mcg, 75mcg and 100mcg patches.
Common side effects may include:

• Changes in weight;
• Nausea/vomiting;
• Redness/Irritation on the skin
You should not use Vivelle Dot if you are allergic to estradiol or if you are pregnant. Before you start taking the medication, talk to your doctor about your medical conditions and also inform them about all the medications you are currently taking including OTC and herbal medications. Do not use this medication if you are breast-feeding a baby because this medication can pass into breast milk and it may also slow breast milk production.
