Vigamox (Moxifloxacin Ophthalmic) is a prescription eye drop used to fight bacterial infections of the eye in people over 12 months of age. Moxifloxacin belongs to a group of medications called fluoroquinolone antibiotics. This medication works by killing bacterial that causes conjunctivitis. Vigamox will not treat a viral or fungal infection of the eye. Vigamox is used for bacterial infections only.

The common side effects of Vigamox may include:

• Blurred vision;
• Eye pain, dryness, redness, itchiness;
• Watery eyes

You should not use Vigamox if you are allergic to Moxifloxacin or if you have any other allergies. Before you start using this medication, talk to your doctor about your medical history and about all the medications you take including OTC and herbal medications. After you apply this medication, your vision may become temporarily blurred. You should not drive, use machinery or do any activity that requires a clear vision until you are sure you can perform such activities safely. Vigamox should not be used during pregnancy unless it is clearly needed. It is unknown if this medication passes into breast milk. Talk to your doctor before breast-feeding a baby.
