Veramyst (Fluticasone furoate) is a prescription medication used to treat seasonal and year-round allergy symptoms like runny nose, itching, sneezing, and red, itchy eyes. Seasonal allergies result from exposure to airborne substances that appear only during certain times of the year. Veramyst is a nasal spray. The active ingredient in Veramyst is Fluticasone furoate. Fluticasone furoate belongs to a class of drugs called corticosteroids. It works by preventing the release of substances in the body that cause inflammation.

The usual dose of Veramyst is 1 to 2 sprays into each nostril once or twice per day. Prime the nasal spray before use. To prime Veramyst nasal spray, shake the device well and take the cap off. Press the button all the way until a fine mist sprays from the bottle. Gently blow your nose to clear your nostrils. Shake the device before use. Tilt your head forward and place the nozzle in one of your nostrils, holding the device upright. Point the end of the nozzle toward the side of the nose, away from the center of your nose. Press the button all the way to spray the medicine in your nose while you are breathing in. Take the nozzle out of your nose and breathe out through your mouth. Repeat the steps for the other nostril. It may take up to several days before your symptoms improve.
