Trivastal (Piribedil) is a prescription medication used to treat the symptoms of Parkinson’s disease. It reduces excessive shaking by slowing down body movements and improves cognition, memory, and focus. Parkinson’s disease is a central nervous system disorder that affects movement and locomotion. In patients with Parkinson’s disease, the nerve cells that produce dopamine begin to die. Trivastal is also used to treat intermittent claudication, a sudden pain that occurs in the legs while walking or exercising due to low blood flow to the legs. The active ingredient in Trivastal is Piribedil. Piribedil belongs to a class of drugs called dopamine agonists. It works by increasing the dopamine levels in the brain. Dopamine is a chemical messenger in the brain necessary for movement control.

We currently offer the brand Trivastal from Turkey in the strength of 50 mg tablets. The generic Piribedil is not available.
Get medical help immediately if you have any of these signs or an allergic reaction while taking Trivastal. The most common side effects of Trivastal may include the following:
• Dizziness;
• Flatulence;
• Hallucinations;
• Nausea;
• Vomiting
Contact your doctor right away if you have any of the severe side effects, including:
• Impulsive behavior like binge eating, hypersexuality, compulsive buying, gambling;
• Low blood pressure;
• Severe skin rash and hives
These are not all of the side effects of Trivastal. Always contact your doctor if you notice any unusual symptoms.
You should not take Trivastal if you are allergic to Piribedil or any ingredient in Trivastal. Before you start using this medication, tell your doctor about your medical history, especially if you:
• Are breastfeeding or planning to breastfeed;
• Are pregnant or planning to be pregnant;
• Have Alzheimer’s disease;
• Have dementia;
• Have intolerance to some sugars;
• Have or have had a cardiovascular shock
Tell your doctor about all your medications, including prescription, OTC, herbal supplements, and vitamins. There may be drug interactions between Trivastal and chlorpromazine, tetrabenazine, haloperidol, etc. Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or planning to become pregnant. Trivastal should only be used in pregnancy if the benefits outweigh the risks. Inform your doctor if you are breastfeeding or planning to breastfeed. It is unknown if Trivastal passes into breast milk and if it may harm nursing infants. Take Trivastal precisely as prescribed by your doctor. Take this drug immediately after food. Swallow the tablets whole with water. Do not crush, chew, or break. Do not stop taking this drug without informing your doctor. Stopping this drug may cause withdrawal symptoms. This drug may make you dizzy. Avoid standing from a sitting or lying position too fast. Avoid taking alcohol with this drug. Alcohol may increase the side effects of Trivastal. Trivastal may cause irregularities in sleep patterns. Avoid driving or operating machinery while using this drug. Keep this medicine out of sight and reach of children. Store in a cool and dry place, away from sunlight.
