Teveten (Eprosartan) is a prescription medication used to treat high blood pressure. Treating high blood pressure prevents complications like stroke, kidney problems, and heart attacks. The active ingredient in Teveten is Eprosartan. Eprosartan belongs to a class of drugs called angiotensin II receptor antagonists. It works by blocking the action of angiotensin II, a natural substance that tightens the blood vessels. This action allows the blood to flow more smoothly and the heart to pump more efficiently, lowering blood pressure. Teveten may be used alone or with a diuretic to reach the target blood pressure.
