Synolis VA (Hyaluronic Acid/Sorbitol) is a prescription medication that helps relieve the pain from osteoarthritis and improves joint mobility. It is a smart injectable medication that is a combination of hyaluronic acid and Sorbitol that acts just like healthy joint fluid. The Sorbitol in this medication helps preserve the Hyaluronic Acid and helps it stay longer in the joint and deliver full performance. This medication provides fast and intense pain relief as early as one week for osteoarthritis patients. It also restores viscosity and elasticity. Synolis VA is long lasting; it relieves pain for at least six months. This medication will reduce use of other medications by 73%. Synolis VA can be used as a single or multi-injection to relieve patients from pain and improve their mobility. You may experience pain relief within two days following your first injection. The standard dose for the injection is as follows:
• Synolis VA 40 mg/80 mg - 40 mg of Hyaluronic Acid and 80 mg of Sorbitol, Mono or multi injection for knee osteoarthritis;
• Synolis VA 80 mg/160 mg - 80 mg of Hyaluronic Acid and 160 mg of Sorbitol, Mono injection for knee osteoarthritis.
Canadian Pharmacy King currently offers the brand Synolis VA from Canada manufactured by Aptissen/Lupin. There is no generic available for this medication. Synolis VA is available in the strength of 40 mg/80 mg and 80 mg/160 mg prefilled syringes.
The clinical studies with Synolis VA show that this medication is very well tolerated. There are very few side effects. This includes swelling or redness localized to the joint and transient pain.
Before you start using Synolis VA, talk to your doctor about your medical history and about all the medications you take. Patients with diabetes are safe using Synolis VA. Sorbitol is metabolized by the liver, as fructose, a carbohydrate that is highly tolerated by people with diabetes. Synolis VA injection may cause temporary pain, oedema or effusion. Patients should avoid intense physical activity for at least 48 hours after injection. This usually clears up in a few days. Contact your doctor if the symptoms don't go away in a week. Some ice placed on the joint for half an hour after the injection can help to reduce pain.
