Seysara (Sarecycline Hydrochloride) is a prescription medication used to treat moderate to severe acne vulgaris in people 9 years or older. Acne vulgaris results from the obstruction and inflammation of the hair follicles and their accompanying sebaceous glands. This condition develops on the face and the upper trunk. Acne most often affects adolescents. The active ingredient in Seysara is Sarecycline Hydrochloride. Sarecycline Hydrochloride belongs to a class of drugs called tetracycline antibiotics. It works by slowing or stopping the growth of certain bacteria on the skin. Seysara should not be used to treat or prevent infections. Antibiotics like Seysara will not work for colds, flu, or other viral infections.
