Rheumatrex (Methotrexate) is prescription medication used to treat certain types of cancer. It is also used to control severe psoriasis and severe rheumatoid arthritis that has not responded to other treatments. Methotrexat is an antimetabolite or an anti-cancer chemotherapy drug. It works by slowing the growth of cancer cells and abnormal skin cells for treatment of cancer and psoriasis. It might be used to control juvenile rheumatoid arthritis and other conditions as determined by your doctor. Take Rheumatrex exactly prescribed.
We currently have the generic Methotrexate comes from Canada and India. Methotrexate is also known as Oncotrex manufactured by Sun Pharma. It is available in 2.5 mg oral tablet form. Brand Rheumatrex is not available now.
The most common side effects of Rheumatrex include:
• Hair loss;
• Loss of appetite;

• Chest pain;
• Difficult breathing;
• Low blood counts;
• Swelling feet or ankles;
• Unusual bleeding or bruising;
• Vaginal discharge;
• Vision loss;
Rheumatrex may cause very serious or life-threatening side effects. You should take Rheumatrex only to treat cancer or other conditions that cannot be treated with other medications. Tell your doctor about all the medical conditions you have had before. Do not take Rheumatrex if you are allergic to Methotrexate or any ingredients in the medication. Do not take Rheumatrex if you are getting pregnancy or breastfeeding. It can cause birth defects and death in unborn babies. Consult your doctor for more details.
