Prinivil (Lisinopril) is used to treat high blood pressure, congestive heart failure, and to improve survival after a heart attack. Lisinopril belongs to a class of medications called ACE inhibitors. This medication works by relaxing blood vessels and it helps the heart to pump blood that carries oxygen to the different parts of the body more efficiently.
The brand name Prinivil comes from UK and New Zealand. The generic comes from Canada. It may come from other countries around the world. Lisinopril is available in the strengths of 5mg, 10mg and 20mg.
Common side effects include:
• Dizziness, drowsiness;
• Feeling depressed, headache;
• Nausea, vomiting, upset stomach, diarrhea;

Do not use this medication if you are allergic to Lisinopril or to any other medications such as benazepril, captopril, enalapril, fosinopril, quinapril, ramipril, etc. If you have diabetes or kidney disease, you may not be able to take Lisinopril if you are taking aliskiren.
