Premarin (Conjugated Estrogens) vaginal cream belongs to the class of medications known as estrogen replacement therapy. This medication contains a mixture of estrogen hormones. Estrogen is a female sex hormone produced by the ovaries. Premarin Vaginal cream is used to treat the vaginal symptoms of menopause such as dryness, burning, irritation, and painful sexual intercourse. The dose of this medication is individualized to the person using the cream. The lowest dose that will treat the symptoms should be used.

Serious side effects include:
• Migraine;
• Severe leg pain or numbness affecting any part of the body;
• Shortness of breath;
• Sudden vision changes;
• Tightness of the chest
Less serious side effects:
• Breast pain;
• Itching of the vagina or genitals;
• Stinging or redness in the genital area;
• Thick, white vaginal discharge without odour or with a mild odour;
• Unusual or expected uterine bleeding or spotting
Premarin Vaginal cream should not be used to prevent heart disease or dementia, because this medication may actually increase your risk of developing these conditions. This medication can harm an unborn baby or cause birth defects. Do not use this medication if you are pregnant. Premarin Vaginal may also slow breast milk production. Do not use if you are breast-feeding a baby. Do not use this medication in anyone under 18 years old without the advice of a doctor. There may be an interaction between conjugated estrogens vaginal cream and other medications such as antidiabetic medications, blood-pressure-lowering medications, clarithromycin, cyclosporine, dexamethasone, itraconazole, morphine, topiramate, warfarin, etc.
