Olpasiran (Olpasiran) is a prescription medication used for the treatment of atherosclerosis. Atherosclerosis is a condition characterized by the buildup of fats, cholesterol, and other substances on the artery walls. This condition can restrict blood flow to the heart, leading to heart attacks, strokes, and peripheral artery disease. Olpasiran belongs to a class of drugs called small-interfering RNA. It works by reducing the production of Lp(a) in hepatocytes. Low Lp(a) levels reduce your likelihood of having a heart attack or stroke.

It is unknown whether Olpasiran passes into breast milk or if it may affect a nursing infant. Use this medicine exactly as your doctor prescribes. Olpasiran is an injection. Your doctor will administer this medicine subcutaneously. Avoid alcohol when taking this drug. Alcohol can increase the side effects. Store Olpasiran below room temperature. Do not freeze. Keep Olpasiran and all medicines out of the reach of children.
