Ocunox is an over-the-counter product used to alleviate the symptoms of dry eye, particularly overnight. Dry eye disease (DED) is a common condition in which your eyes don't produce enough tears or your tears evaporate too quickly, resulting in insufficient lubrication and moisture on the eye's surface. Symptoms of dry eye include burning, stinging, gritty sensations, redness, and fluctuating vision. Ocunox helps protect the surface of the eye, stabilize the tear film, and prevent tears from evaporating while you sleep. The key active ingredient in Ocunox is Vitamin A (retinol palmitate). Other base ingredients include liquid paraffin, paraffin, lanolin (a type of wool fat), and white petrolatum. Ocunox belongs to a class of medications called ophthalmic lubricants and protectants. It works by providing a long-lasting protective barrier over the eye surface. It also supports the regeneration of epithelial cells and promotes tolerance.
