Nuvaring Vaginal Ring Information
Nuvaring (Etonogestrel/Ethinyl Estradiol) is used as a contraception to prevent pregnancy. Nuvaring contains ethinyl estradiol and etonogestrel. Both estradiol and etonogestrel are female hormones that prevent ovulation. Nuvaring also causes changes in your cervical mucus and uterine lining, which makes it harder for the sperm to reach the uterus and harder for a fertilized egg to attach to the uterus. Nuvaring is inserted into the vagina for 3 weeks at a time, then removed for 1-week, during which time a menstrual period usually occurs.
We currently have the brand from Turkey and the brand from Canada manufactured by Organon. This medication is available in the quantity of one ring or three sachets containing one ring.
Nuvaring is stored in a refrigerator
2-8°C (36-46° F) prior to dispensing. After it is dispensed, Nuvaring can be stored at room temperature
for up to 4 months at 25°C (77° F). Avoid storing Nuvaring in direct sunlight or at temperatures above 30°C (86° F).
