Nurtec ODT (Rimegepant) is a prescription medication used to prevent or treat migraine. The drug also relieves migraine symptoms, including headache, nausea, vomiting, and sensitivity to light or sound. It also prevents episodic migraines from happening. The active ingredient in Nurtec ODT is Rimegepant. Rimegepant belongs to a class of medications called calcitonin gene-related peptide receptor antagonists. It works by blocking the action of the natural substance that causes migraine in the body.

It is not known if Rimegepant will harm the unborn baby. Nurtec ODT passes into breast milk in small amounts. Talk to your doctor to know the best way to feed your baby. Take Nurtec ODT exactly as prescribed by your doctor. The drug is an orally disintegrating tablet. Ensure your hands are dry when opening the blister pack. Peel the foil covering one blister and gently remove the drug. Do not push Rimegepant through the foil. The drug will dissolve once you place it on your tongue. You don’t need water to take Nurtec ODT. Store Rimegepant in its original blister package out of reach and sight of children. Keep this drug at room temperature 20-250C (68 -860F).
