Migranal (Dihydroergotamine Mesylate) is a medication used to treat migraine headache attacks with or without aura in adults. Using this medication will help relieve headaches and other symptoms such as sensitivity to light or sound. Dihydroergotamine belongs to a class of drugs known as ergot alkaloids. It works by narrowing blood vessels in the brain. Treating your migraine headache will allow you to get back to your normal routine sooner and may decrease the need to take other pain medications. Migranal will only treat a headache that has already begun; it will not prevent headaches or reduce the number of migraine attacks. This medication should not be used to treat common tension headaches or any other types of headaches.
