Loceryl Nail Lacquer (Amorolfine 5%) is a prescription topical antifungal medication used to treat fungal infections of the nails, also known as onychomycosis. Onychomycosis occurs when fungi infect the fingernails or toenails, leading to nail thickening, discoloration, brittleness, and separation of the nail from the nail bed. These infections can be persistent and may spread if left untreated. Loceryl Nail Lacquer helps eliminate the fungus and improve the appearance and health of the affected nails over time. The active ingredient in Loceryl Nail Lacquer is Amorolfine. Amorolfine belongs to a class of medications known as morpholine antifungals. It works by inhibiting the synthesis of sterols, which are essential to fungal cell membranes, disrupting fungal growth and leading to fungal cell death. When applied to the nail, it penetrates the nail plate and acts locally with minimal systemic absorption.

Contact your doctor right away if you have any of the severe side effects, including:
• Severe skin irritation or rash around the nail;
• Signs of an allergic reaction, such as trouble breathing, hives, swelling of the face, lips, or throat;
• Swelling or pain of the nail folds;

These are not all of Loceryl Nail Lacquer's side effects. Always contact your doctor if you notice any unusual symptoms.

You should not use Loceryl Nail Lacquer if you are allergic to Amorolfine 5% or any ingredient in Loceryl Nail Lacquer. Before you start using this medication, tell your doctor about your medical history, especially if you:
• Are breastfeeding or planning to breastfeed;
• Are pregnant or planning to become pregnant;
• Have diabetes or circulation problems;
• Have immune system disorders;
• Have severe nail damage or nail bed infection

Tell your doctor about all your medications, including prescription, OTC, herbal supplements, and vitamins. Drug interactions are unlikely because Loceryl is applied topically and has minimal systemic absorption. However, using other nail products or treatments at the same time may interfere with effectiveness.

Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or planning to become pregnant. This medicine should be used during pregnancy only if the potential benefits outweigh the possible risks. Inform your doctor if you are breastfeeding or planning to breastfeed. It is unknown whether Amorolfine passes into breast milk. Use caution and follow your doctor's advice while breastfeeding. Use this medicine exactly as your doctor prescribes it. Loceryl Nail Lacquer is for use on fingernails or toenails only. Before application, file the affected nail(s) as much as possible using the provided nail file and clean the nail surface with an alcohol swab. Do not use the same nail file on healthy nails as on infected nails, as this can spread the fungus. Apply the lacquer evenly over the entire affected nail using the applicator. Allow the lacquer to dry for a few minutes. Apply once or twice weekly as directed. Clean the applicator after each use. Continue treatment until the infected nail has completely grown out and been replaced by a healthy nail. Toenails usually require 9-12 months of continuous therapy, while fingernails take about 6 months. Avoid using cosmetic nail polish or artificial nails during treatment unless your doctor advises otherwise. Keep nails clean and dry to prevent reinfection. Store this drug at room temperature, away from heat and open flames, as the lacquer is flammable. Keep the bottle tightly closed and out of the reach of children.
