K-Dur (Potassium Chloride) is a prescription mineral supplement used to treat or prevent low amounts of potassium in the blood. K-Dur belongs to a class of drugs called electrolytes. Potassium chloride is a mineral found in many foods and is needed for several bodily functions, especially the beating of your heart. Having a good amount of potassium in your blood will help your cells, kidneys, heart, muscles, and nerves work better. Some conditions that can lower your body’s potassium levels are taking certain medications, diarrhea, vomiting, and hormone problems.
