Inderal (Propranolol) is a used to treat tremors, chest pain, high blood pressure, heart rhythm disorders and other heart conditions. It is also used after a heart attack to improve the chances of survival and to prevent migraine headaches. It may also be used to treat anxiety, aggressive behavior after brain injuries, post-traumatic stress disorder and a variety of phobias such as fear of heights and animal phobias. Propranolol belongs to the class of drugs called beta blockers. You should not drive, use machinery or do any activity that requires you to be alert. Limit alcoholic beverages. This medication should not be used during pregnancy unless it is clearly needed. This medication passes into breast milk.
