Glucophage Information

Glucophage (Metformin) is a prescription diabetic drug that is used to control blood sugar levels in people with type 2 diabetes. This medication is used along with a diet and exercise program. Metformin works by helping restore your bodys response to the insulin produced naturally by your body and by decreasing the amount of sugar that is absorbed by your stomach/intestines. The recommended adult dose of Metformin ranges from 500mg three or four times a day to 850mg two or three times a day. The maximum daily dose should not exceed 2550mg a day.
