DuoTrav is in a group of drugs called ophthalmologicals and contains two drugs: Travoprost and Timolol. DuoTrav (Travoprost 0.004%/Timolol Maleate 0.05%) is used to treat ocular hypertension or open-angle glaucoma. It works by lowering pressure inside the eye and increasing drainage for fluid in the eye. The usual recommended start dose is 2.5ml.
The brand DuoTrav is manufactured by Alcon or Novartis and distributed from Canada or Turkey. There is no generic equivalent at this time. DuoTrav is available in eye drop form in a dosage of 2.5ml and 5ml.

DuoTrav is usually taken once a day, or as prescribed by your doctor. You should not use it if you are allergic to travoprost or timolol (or any other beta-blockers). DuiTrav should not be used in patients who have asthma or severe lung disease, or some people with heart conditions. Do not use DuoTrav while wearing contact lenses, as it can discolor soft contact lenses. Wait at least 10 minutes after distributing the eye drops before putting contact lenses in. Do not allow the tip of the dropper to touch any surface, including your eyes or fingers, as you can contaminate the medication, possibly leading to infection and vision impairment. This medication must not be used during pregnancy. It isn’t known if Travoprost/Timolol Maleate passes into breast milk or harms an unborn child. Therefore, check with your doctor before using this medication if you are pregnant or nursing. It’s not likely that other medications will have an effect on DuoTrav. However, just to be sure, talk to your doctor about your medical history and any medications or vitamins you may be taking on a normal basis.
