Dexilant (Dexlansoprazole) is used to treat certain stomach and esophagus problems like acid reflux. Dexlansoprazole delayed-release capsules belong to the class of drugs known as proton pump inhibitors (PPI). This medication works by decreasing the amount of acid produced in your stomach. Dexilant relieves symptoms such as heartburn, difficulty swallowing and persistent cough. It also helps heal acid damage to the stomach and esophagus; helps prevent ulcers, and may help prevent cancer of the esophagus.

We currently have the brand name Dexilant from Canada manufactured by Takeda. The generic Dexilant comes from India manufactured by MSN Laboratories, also it's known as DDR. Dexilant is available in the strength of 30mg and 60mg capsules.
The common side effects may include cold symptoms, diarrhea, gas, nausea, stomach pain, vomiting. The serious side effects may include:
• Fast or pounding heartbeat;
• Low levels of potassium;
• Pain in the chest;
• Severe stomach pain
You should not take Dexilant if you are allergic to Dexlansoprazole or if you have allergies to similar drugs such as Lansoprazole and Omeprazole or if you have any other allergies. Before you start using this medication, talk to your doctor about your medical conditions and about all the medications you are currently taking including OTC and herbal medications. It is unknown if this drug passes into breast milk.
