Bacterial skin infections occur when bacteria enter the skin through breaks in the skin or hair follicles. The drug is also used to treat infections in the blood associated with skin infections. Cubicin is used to treat complicated infections such as MRSA (methicillin-resistant staphylococcus aureus). The active ingredient in Cubicin is Daptomycin. Daptomycin belongs to a class of medications called antibiotics. It works by stopping the growth of certain bacteria.
