Coversyl (Perindopril) is a prescription medication used to control high blood pressure. High blood pressure or hypertension can cause damage to vital organs. Although the condition often has no noticeable symptoms, it can lead to vision loss, stroke, heart failure, heart attack, and kidney problems, if left untreated. Perindopril may also be used in combination with other medicines to treat congestive heart failure. The active ingredient in Coversyl is Perindopril. Perindopril belongs to a class of drugs called angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitors. It works by relaxing the blood vessels and helping the heart to pump oxygen-rich blood more efficiently to different parts of the body.

You can take the drug before a meal or on an empty stomach. If you are taking this medicine just once a day, take it in the morning before breakfast. Your doctor will conduct regular blood tests to monitor your blood count. You may develop a persistent, dry cough while using Perindopril. This usually disappears when you stop taking the medicine. Coversyl can cause dizziness and drowsiness. Do not stand up too quickly from a lying or sitting position to reduce your risk of falls.
