Clindesse (Clindamycin phosphate) is a prescription medication used to treat bacterial vaginosis in non-pregnant women. Bacterial vaginosis can cause discomfort and pain in the vagina. Balanced levels of bacteria help keep the vagina healthy, but when too much of some bacteria grow, it can lead to bacteria vaginosis. The active ingredient in Clindesse is Clindamycin phosphate. Clindamycin phosphate belongs to a class of drugs called lincomycin antibiotics. It works by stopping the growth of bacteria.
