Cationorm Plus (Eye Lubricant) is an over-the-counter product used to relieve the symptoms of dry eye. Dry eye is a condition where tears don't adequately lubricate the eyes, and it can result from factors such as prolonged contact lens use, environmental conditions, or a compromised tear film. The symptoms of this condition include stinging, burning, itching, blurred vision, or a gritty feeling. The active ingredients in Cationorm Plus include mineral oils and other excipients like glycerol and tyloxapol. Cationorm Plus belongs to a class of drugs called eye lubricants. It works by supporting all three layers of the tear film. The oily phase supplements the lipid layer to reduce tear evaporation, while the aqueous phase provides moisturization.
