Cataflam (Diclofenac potassium) is a prescription medication used to relieve mild to moderate pain, inflammation, and swelling caused by headaches, menstrual cramps, dental pain, and muscle aches. This drug also reduces pain, swelling, and joint stiffness from arthritis. Cataflam also treats the signs and symptoms of osteoarthritis. The active ingredient in Cataflam is Diclofenac potassium. Diclofenac potassium belongs to a class of medications called non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). It works by blocking hormones that cause pain and inflammation in the body.

Get medical help immediately if you have any of these signs or an allergic reaction while taking Cataflam. The most common side effects of Cataflam may include the following:
• Constipation;
• Diarrhea;
• Dizziness;
• Headache;
• Increased blood pressure;
• Indigestion;
• Itching;
• Stuffy nose;
• Sweating;
• Swelling in arms or legs
Contact your doctor right away if you have any of the serious side effects, including:
• Easy bleeding;
• Flu-like symptoms;
• Mood changes;
• Skin rash;
• Symptoms of heart failure like swelling ankles, unusual weight gain;
• Symptoms of kidney problems including change in the amount of urine, bloody urine;
• Symptoms of liver disease including appetite loss, dark urine, and nausea or vomiting that does not stop;
• Symptoms of stomach bleeding like bloody stools and coughing up blood

You should not take Cataflam if you are allergic to Diclofenac potassium, any ingredient in Cataflam, or other NSAIDs. Before you start taking this medication, tell your doctor about your medical history, especially if you:

• Have asthma;
• Have bleeding in your stomach;

Tell your doctor about all your medications, including prescription, OTC, herbal supplements, and vitamins. There may be drug interactions between Cataflam and other medicines, including diuretics, flector, pennsaid, warfarin, and other NSAIDs. Cataflam is not recommended for use in children and adolescents below 14 years. Tell your doctor immediately if you become pregnant or think you may be pregnant. You should not become pregnant while using Diclofenac potassium. Diclofenac potassium may harm the unborn baby. Cataflam passes into breast milk. Do not breastfeed during treatment. This drug may make you dizzy and drowsy. Do not drive or operate machines while using this medication. Do not use alcohol with Cataflam. Alcohol combined with this medicine can cause stomach bleeding. If you forget to take a dose, take one as soon as you remember it, except it is almost time for your next dose. Keep Diclofenac potassium out of reach and sight of children. Do not store this drug above 300C (860F).
