Cabtreo Gel (Clindamycin phosphate/adapalene/benzoyl peroxide) is a prescription topical medication used for the treatment of acne vulgaris in adults and pediatric patients aged 12 years and older. Acne is a common skin condition that occurs when hair follicles become clogged with oil and dead skin cells, often leading to inflammation and bacterial growth. Cabtreo is the first triple-combination gel approved to simultaneously target multiple pathways of acne development. The active ingredients in Cabtreo Gel are Clindamycin phosphate, adapalene, and benzoyl peroxide. Clindamycin phosphate belongs to a class of drugs called lincosamide antibiotics. It works by limiting the growth of acne-causing bacteria and reducing inflammation. Adapalene is a retinoid. It works by unlocking pores and preventing new ones from forming by regulating skin cell turnover. Benzoyl peroxide is an oxidizing agent with antibacterial effects. It works by killing bacteria on the skin and helping to shed dead skin cells.

Get medical help immediately if you have any of these signs or an allergic reaction while using Cabtreo Gel. The most common side effects of Cabtreo Gel may include the following:
• Dryness;
• Scaling or peeling of the skin;
• Skin irritation at the application site;
• Skin redness (erythema);
• Stinging or burning sensations.
Contact your doctor right away if you have any of the severe side effects, including:
• Severe abdominal pain or persistent, watery/bloody diarrhea (even if it occurs weeks after use);
• Severe skin reactions, such as intense swelling or blistering;
• Severe sun sensitivity or sunburn reactions.

• Are pregnant or planning to become pregnant;

There may be drug interactions between Cabtreo Gel and other medicines, especially topical products. Avoid using other potentially irritating topical products (like medicated soaps or cleansers with high alcohol content) unless directed by your doctor.
Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or planning to become pregnant. Cabtreo Gel should be used during pregnancy only if the potential benefits outweigh the possible risks to the fetus. Maintaining healthy skin and controlling inflammation is important, but your doctor must assess the safety of topical retinoids and antibiotics during your pregnancy. Inform your doctor if you are breastfeeding or planning to breastfeed. It is not fully known if the active ingredients in Cabtreo, particularly after topical application, pass into breast milk in significant amounts. Use caution and follow your doctor's specific advice while breastfeeding to ensure the infant does not come into direct contact with the treated skin.
Use this medicine exactly as your doctor prescribes it. Cabtreo Gel is applied to a clean, dry face. Apply two pumps to the affected areas once daily. Avoid contact with the eyes, lips, and mucous membranes. Cabtreo can make your skin more sensitive to sunlight and UV rays (sunlamps). Use sunscreen and wear protective clothing over treated areas. Benzoyl peroxide may bleach hair or colored fabrics (like towels and pillowcases).
Store Cabtreo Gel at room temperature, away from moisture, heat, and light. Do not freeze. Keep the container tightly closed and out of reach of children. Discard the product 10 weeks after the first opening, even if gel remains.
