Albenza (Albendazole) is prescription medication used to treat a variety of parasitic worms including parenchymal neurocysticercosis (an infection caused by larval forms of the pork tapeworm, Taenia solium) and cystic hydatid disease (caused by the larval form of the dog tapeworm, Echinococcus granulosus). Albendazole is anthelmintic or anti-worm agent that works by preventing newly hatched insect larvae (worms) from growing or multiplying in your body. Albenza may also be used to treat other types of worm infections. Take Albenza exactly prescribed.
