Meet Dr. Christine Bishara - Our Canadian Pharmacy Ambassador
Dr. Christine Bishara, MD is the founder of From Within Medical, a medical wellness practice that places emphasis on the mind-body and gut-brain axis to prevent and manage disease. In her 20 years of experience in Internal medicine, Dr. Bishara has seen how the connection between these systems plays a significant role in disease prevention and management.
Dr. Bishara has a special interest in integrative medical weight loss and gut health. She is Board certified in Internal Medicine by the National Board of Physicians and Surgeons and is certified in Integrative Medical Weight Loss by the American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine. She has previously served as Assistant Professor and Clinical Preceptor at New York Medical College. Her professional experience has spanned academically and clinically in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
Dr. Bishara is also the pioneer of the gut-Covid connection. She is the lead author of the first of its kind scientific study linking covid severity to deficiencies of certain gut bacteria. Since her study was published in May 2020, several recently published studies and clinical trials have validated this initial discovery.
Meet Dr. Bolanle Aina - Our Canadian Pharmacy Content Editor
Dr. Bolanle Aina is a licenced pharmacist registered with the College of Pharmacists of Manitoba with more than 10 years of experience that span through academia, industry, research and retail pharmacy. She earned her Master of Science degree (M.Sc. Pharmacy) from the College of Pharmacy, University of Manitoba. She also holds a doctoral degree (Ph.D. Pharmacy) from the same institution where she specialized in Cardiovascular diseases, specifically Cardiac Hypertrophy and Heart Failure. She was a recipient of several academic prizes and awards during her graduate studies including the Pfizer Canada Inc. Centennial Pharmacy Research Award and the JG Fletcher Ph.D. Fellowship in Functional Foods and Nutraceuticals. Findings of her studies have been published in peer-reviewed journals and presented in national conferences. Bolanle is passionate about medical communications and health promotion. At CPW, she reviews drug information for correctness and creates educational articles on optimal drug use.
