Vistitan (Bimatoprost) is a prescription medication used to treat eye pressure inside the eye for people with open-angle glaucoma or intraocular hypertension. Fluid is constantly formed and drained out of the eye through a tissue located at the angle where the iris and the cornea meet. When the fluid does not drain properly, it increases pressure inside the eyes. The active ingredient in Vistitan is Bimatoprost. Bimatoprost belongs to a class of drugs called prostamides. It works by increasing the outflow of aqueous humor, the fluid made continuously by the eye, reducing intraocular pressure.

We currently offer the brand Vistitan from Canada manufactured by Sandoz in the strength of 0.03%/5ml eye drops. The generic Bimatoprost is not available.

Use Vistitan precisely as prescribed by your doctor. Vistitan contains benzalkonium chloride, a preservative that may discolor soft contact lenses. If you use contact lenses, remove them before using Vistitan eye drops and wait at least 15 minutes after using the drops before putting the lenses back in. Wash your hands before using Bimatoprost eye drops. Tilt your head back and gently pull down your lower eyelid to create a small pocket. Turn the bottle upside down and squeeze it gently to release one drop into the eyelid pocket. Let go of the lower eyelid and close your eyes for 30 seconds. Do not let the bottle tip touch your eye or anything else to prevent eye infections. Hair growth can occur in areas of your skin that Vistitan frequently touches. Use a tissue or absorbent material to blot out excess solution that drips from your eye. If you are using other eye drops, apply them at least 5 minutes apart. Vistitan may temporarily blur your vision. Do not drive or use machines till your vision is clear. Store Vistitan in its original container at 20C to 25C.
