Vemlidy (Tenofovir Alafenamide Fumarate) is a prescription medication used to treat people with chronic hepatitis B infection in adults with stable liver disease. Vemlidy belongs to a class of drugs known as antiviral medications and is a nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitor (NRTI). This medication works by lowering the amount of hepatitis B virus in your body by lowering the ability of the virus to multiply and infect new liver cells and can also improve the inflammation and scar tissue caused by the hepatitis B virus in your liver.

The common side effects of Vemlidy may include diarrhea, depression, dizziness, fever, headache, insomnia, itching or rash, nausea, pain, stomach pain, and vomiting.

Tenofovir can affect your immune system even after you've used this medication. Inform your doctor if you have:

• Problems with balance or eye movement;

Drinking alcohol increases your risk of liver damage. Vemlidy will not prevent you from passing hepatitis B to other people. Consult your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
