Tagrisso (Osimertinib Mesylate) is a cancer medication that is used to treat a certain type of non-small cell lung cancer. Osimertinib belongs to a class of drugs known as kinase inhibitors. This medication inhibits the growth and spread of cancer cells in the body. It binds to certain protein called epidermal growth factor receptor-EGFR in some tumors. Tagrisso is usually taken once daily with or without food or as directed by your doctor.

The common side effects of Tagrisso may include back pain, diarrhea, dry or itchy skin, headache, loss of appetite, mouth sores and nausea.
Contact your doctor right away if you have any of the serious side effects such as:
• Fainting;
• New or worsening symptoms of lung disease;
• Severe dizziness;
• Slow fast or irregular heartbeat;
• Slow or shallow breathing;
• Signs of blood clots;
• Symptoms of heart failure;

Limit alcoholic beverages. Osimertinib can make your more likely to get infections or may worsen your current infections. Avoid contact with people who have infections that are contagious. You should not have any immunizatons or vaccinations without the consent of your doctor. This medication is not recommended for use during pregnancy as it may harm an unborn baby. It is important that you prevent pregnancy while taking this medication and after treatment. Inform your doctor right away if you think you are pregnant. It is unknown if this drug passes into breast milk.
