Scemblix (Asciminib Hydrochloride) is a prescription medication used to treat adults with Philadelphia chromosome-positive chronic myeloid leukemia (Ph + CML) who do not have a genetic difference (mutation) called T315I and who were previously treated with at least two medicines called tyrosine kinase inhibitors. Ph + CML is a type of blood cancer (leukemia) in which the body produces too many abnormal white blood cells. The first phase of this blood cancer is the chronic phase. The active ingredient in Scemblix is Asciminib Hydrochloride. Asciminib Hydrochloride belongs to a class of drugs called tyrosine kinase inhibitors. It works by blocking the action of a protein produced by the abnormal white blood cells and stops their division and growth.
