The active ingredients in R&C Lice Treatment are Piperonyl Butoxide and Pyrethrins. Piperonyl Butoxide belongs to a class of drugs called pesticide synergists. It works by increasing the effectiveness of pyrethrins. Pyrethrins belong to a class of drugs called insecticides. It works by disrupting the nervous system of insects, causing paralysis and death.

• Mild stinging;
• Mild itching;
• Mild skin rash;
• Numbness
Contact your doctor right away if you have any of the severe side effects, including:
• Signs of an allergic reaction, such as trouble breathing, hives, swelling of the face, lips, or throat

You should not use R&C Lice Treatment if you are allergic to Piperonyl Butoxide, Pyrethrins. or any ingredient in R&C Lice Treatment. Before you start using this medication, tell your doctor about your medical history, especially if you:

• Are pregnant or planning to become pregnant
Tell your doctor about all your medications, including prescription, OTC, herbal supplements, and vitamins. There may be drug interactions between the R&C Lice Treatment and other medicines. Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or planning to become pregnant. It is unknown if this medicine will harm an unborn baby. Inform your doctor if you are breastfeeding or planning to breastfeed. It is not known if R&C Lice Treatment will pass into breast milk or harm your nursing infant. Use this medicine exactly as your doctor prescribes. R&C Lice Treatment comes as a shampoo. Apply to dry hair only. Please do not apply to the skin or take it by mouth. Shake the medicine well before use. Apply to all areas of the scalp, including behind the ears and neck. Keep your eyes tightly closed while using this medicine in your hair. You may use a washcloth or towel to protect your eyes while applying the medication to your head. Treat hair from the roots to the ends and leave the shampoo in the hair for 10 minutes, then rinse thoroughly with warm water. Do not apply to your eyebrows or eyelashes. Call your doctor if these areas become infected with lice. The shampoo should be used again in 7 to 10 days to kill any newly hatched lice.
Use this medication for the full prescribed length of time. Your symptoms may improve before the lice infestation is completely cleared. Call your doctor if your condition does not improve or if your symptoms get worse while using this medication. To prevent reinfection with lice, wash all clothing, hats, bed linens, stuffed toys, hair brushes, and combs in hot water with a strong cleanser to remove mites or eggs. You may need to use a special lice control spray to treat furniture, mattresses, sports helmets, headphones, and other non-washable items. Ask your doctor or pharmacist about disinfecting your home. Lice infection is contagious. Avoid close contact with others until the infection has been cured. Also, avoid sharing hair combs, accessories, hats, clothing, bed linens, pillows, and other items of personal use. Do not use the R&C Lice Treatment Kit on sunburned, windburned, dry, chapped, irritated, or broken skin. Store this drug at room temperature, away from light and moisture. Keep out of the reach of children.
