Ombrelle Sunscreen is an over-the-counter product used to protect the skin from harmful ultraviolet (UV) radiation from the sun. It helps prevent sunburn, reduces the risk of skin cancer, and helps prevent premature skin aging caused by exposure to the sun. The active ingredients in Ombrelle Sunscreen include both chemical and mineral filters. It belongs to a class of products called UVA/UVB protection. It works by forming a protective barrier on the skin that either absorbs or reflects/scatters harmful UV radiation before it can damage skin cells.
Ombrelle’s sun protection can be used daily, all year-round on the body, face and hands. The sunscreens use chemicals to absorb UV rays. The sunblock physically deflects UV rays away from the skin. This Ombrelle sunscreen provides broad spectrum photostable protection against both UVA and UVB rays. In adults, the broad-spectrum sunscreen also blocks UVA rays to help minimize the long-term effects of sun exposure, such as premature wrinkles. The sunscreen with SPF 15-30 is a good standard; SPF 30 is preferred for fair skinned children. SPF 15 may prevent up to 93% of UVB rays, while SPF 30 offers a protection rate of 97%. For most people SPF 15 is adequate but if you have fair skin or burn easily, you might want to consider a higher SPF.
Sport Spray Lotion SPF 15 (120ml/240ml):
The sport spray SPF is a clear, fast-drying solution that delivers a non-greasy, uniform spray application. This spray is highly recommended for the scalp, hairy body areas and oily, acne-prone skin.
Standard lotion SPF 30 (120ml/240ml):
Ombrelle lotion SPF 30 filters 97% of UVB rays while providing a photostable proctection throughout the UVA spectrum. The moisturizing and gentle lotion is the protection of choice for anyone who plans to stay outdoors for an extended period.
Ombrelle Kids Water Resistant Lotion SPF 45
Ombrelle Kids Lotion SPF 45 is a gentle and moisturizing sun protection is specifically formulated for a child’s delicate skin. Its light texture is easy to apply and quickly absorbed by the skin. This hypoallergenic lotion is non-comedogenic, fragrance and colorant free. PABA free.
While the SPF protects your skin for several hours against sunburn, you still need to reapply sunscreen according to your activity. The Skin Cancer Foundation recommends reapplying your sunscreen every two hours and more often after sweating or swimming. It is always a good idea to avoid sun exposure between 10.00 am and 4.00 pm.
Sunscreen cannot prevent skin cancer by itself but with proper use, sun protective clothing, hats and swimwear it is largely preventable with an overall sun protection regime.
Four easy rules to follow while using sunscreen:
• Use broad-spectrum products;
• Always apply sunscreen 20 minutes before going outside;
• Use at least 2 ounces;
• Reapply every 2 hours
