Nicorette Gum (Nicotine) is an over-the-counter product used to help people quit smoking. Nicotine dependence is a powerful addiction to Nicotine, a highly addictive substance found in tobacco products. Stopping Nicotine can cause withdrawal symptoms like intense cravings, irritability, anxiety, difficulty concentrating, depressed mood, insomnia, and restlessness. The active ingredient in Nicorette Gum is Nicotine. Nicotine belongs to a class of medications known as nicotine replacement therapy (NRT). It works by providing a controlled dose of Nicotine to alleviate withdrawal symptoms, making it easier to break the smoking habit. Nicorette gum is used for relief of craving and Nicorette withdrawal symptoms. Nicorette Gum 2mg is suitable for smokers of 20 cigarettes or less a day. Nicorette Gum 4mg is suitable for those smoking greater than 20 cigarettes a day.

Chew 1 piece slowly when you feel the urge to smoke for adult. Use the Nicorette Chewing Technique:
• Chew slowly until the taste becomes strong.
• Rest between gum and cheek.
• Chew again when taste has faded.

Get medical help immediately if you have any of these signs or an allergic reaction while using Nicorette Gum. The most common side effects of Nicorette Gum may include the following:
• Headache;
• Heartburn;
• Hiccups;
• Indigestion;
• Jaw pain;
• Nausea;
• Sore throat

Contact your doctor right away if you have any of the severe side effects, including:
• Signs of an allergic reaction, such as trouble breathing, hives, swelling of the face, lips, or throat;
• Signs of nicotine overdose, such as severe nausea and vomiting, dizziness, cold sweat, confusion, blurred vision

These are not all of Nicorette Gum's side effects. Always contact your doctor if you notice any unusual symptoms.

You should not use Nicorette Gum if you are allergic to Nicotine or any ingredient in Nicorette Gum. Before you start using this product, tell your doctor about your medical history, especially if you:
• Are a non-smoker;
• Are breastfeeding or planning to breastfeed;
• Are pregnant or planning to become pregnant;
• Have a seizure disorder;
• Have an active stomach ulcer;
• Have diabetes;
• Have had a recent heart attack;
• Have pheochromocytoma;
• Have severe liver or kidney disease;
• Have thyroid problems;
• Have uncontrolled high blood pressure

Tell your doctor about all your medications, including prescription, OTC, herbal supplements, and vitamins. There may be drug interactions between Nicorette Gum and other medicines, such as caffeine, theophylline, tacrine, clozapine, ropinirole, etc. Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or planning to become pregnant. Nicotine crosses the placenta and can affect a fetus. However, NRTs are considered less harmful than continued smoking during pregnancy. Nicorette Gum should only be used in pregnancy if the benefits outweigh the risks. Inform your doctor if you are breastfeeding or planning to breastfeed. Nicotine is excreted in breastmilk and may harm a nursing infant. It is recommended that a breastfeeding mother chew Nicorette Gum immediately after breastfeeding. This allows time for nicotine levels in milk to decrease before the next feeding.

Use this medicine exactly as your doctor prescribes it. Nicorette Gum is a chewing gum. Bite slowly on the gum until you feel a tingling sensation or a strong peppery taste. When you feel this taste, stop chewing and keep the gum between your cheek and gum. This allows nicotine to be absorbed through the lining of your mouth. When the tingling or taste sensation fades, begin chewing slowly again until the sensation returns, then place the gum back between your cheek and gum. Repeat this process for about 30 minutes or until the tingling sensation is almost gone. Follow your dosing schedule. Do not use more of the Nicorette Gum than your doctor recommends. Do not eat or drink for 15 minutes before or while chewing the gum. Do not swallow the gum or the juice produced from chewing. This can lead to stomach upset and reduced nicotine absorption. When you start using Nicorette gum, stop smoking cigarettes completely. Using both can lead to a nicotine overdose. Nicorette Gum is not for casual use. It is for smoking cessation. Do not use for longer than 12 months without consulting a healthcare professional. Store Nicorette Gum at room temperature, away from moisture, heat, and light. Keep out of the reach of children.
