Emerade (Adrenaline tartrate) is a prescription medication used for emergency treatment of severe acute allergic reactions (anaphylaxis) triggered by allergens in food, medicines, and insect bites. Anaphylaxis is a severe, life-threatening allergic reaction that occurs within seconds or minutes of exposure to an allergen. Emerade is also used for exercise-induced or idiopathic anaphylaxis. Emerade is an adrenaline auto-injector for intramuscular administration into the outer thigh. The active ingredient in Emerade is Adrenaline tartrate. Adrenaline tartrate belongs to a class of drugs called sympathomimetic agents. It works by increasing blood flow to counteract the fall of blood pressure in anaphylactic reactions. It also stimulates the heart and facilitates breathing.
