Dalacin T (Clindamycin) is a topical solution used to treat severe acne in adults and children over the age of 12. Clindamycin belongs to a class of medications called lincomycin antibiotics, and works by inhibiting bacteria protein synthesis, preventing the bacteria from growing, replicating, and surviving. Severe acne is often caused or worsened due to bacterial infections. By killing the bacteria, Dalacin T can treat and reduce the number of acne lesions. Severe acne is characterized by inflamed, red blemishes that can, in serious cases, cause pain, and may ooze, crust, or scab over. Your doctor will discuss the most effective treatment for your symptoms.
