Clindoxyl Gel (Clindamycin/Benzoyl Peroxide) is a prescription medication used to moderate acne vulgaris. Acne vulgaris is a common skin condition characterized by the presence of comedones (blackheads and whiteheads), papules, and pustules (also known as pimples). The active ingredients in Clindoxyl Gel are Clindamycin and Benzoyl Peroxide. Clindamycin belongs to a class of drugs called antibiotics. It works by inhibiting the growth of the bacteria responsible for acne. Benzoyl Peroxide belongs to a class of medications known as antibacterials and keratolytic agents. As an antibacterial, it works by penetrating the skin and killing the bacteria that cause acne. As a keratolytic, it helps to soften and peel the outer layer of the skin, which helps to remove excess dead skin cells and prevent pores from becoming clogged.

If you are using this medication when breastfeeding, do not apply it to the chest or breast area to prevent the infant from ingesting it.

Use this medicine exactly as your doctor prescribes it. Clindoxyl Gel is a gel. Apply this medication once daily, in the evening. Please do not take it by mouth. Clean the affected area of your skin with a mild cleanser and pat dry. Apply a thin layer of the gel to the entire affected area, not just to individual spots. Use your fingertip to apply just enough to cover the area. Do not apply too much, as this may increase skin irritation. Wash your hands thoroughly after application. Avoid contact with your eyes, mouth, nostrils, and other mucous membranes. If accidental contact occurs, rinse the area with plenty of water for at least 5 minutes. Do not apply Clindoxyl Gel on broken, cut, or sunburned skin. This medication can make your skin more sensitive to the sun. Avoid prolonged exposure to sunlight, sunlamps, or tanning beds. Wear protective clothing and use a broad-spectrum sunscreen with an SPF of at least 30 when outdoors. Benzoyl peroxide can bleach hair, clothing, and bed linen. Use caution to avoid contact with these materials. Continue to use the medication for the full duration prescribed by your doctor, even if your acne appears to be improving. It may take 4-6 weeks to see the full effect of the medicine. After dispensing, store this drug below 25 °C and use it within 2 months. Keep the tube tightly closed and out of the reach of children.
