Caverject (Alprostadil) is a prescription injection that is used for the treatment of Erectile Dysfunction (ED). It may also be used to help doctors diagnose ED. Alprostadil belongs to a class of medications known as prostaglandins. This medication works by relaxing the muscles and expanding blood vessels in the penis to increase blood flow to the penis to cause an erection. Alprostadil does not cure erectile dysfunction or increase sexual desire. Caverject usually begins to work in about 5 to 10 minutes. You should attempt to have sexual intercourse within 10-30 minutes after using this medication.

Our Canadian Pharmacy is currently offering the brand Caverject prefilled syringes from New Zealand by Pfizer and Caverject Kit from Canada by Pfizer. There is no generic available for this medication. Caverject Prefilled Syringes are available in the dosage of 10 mcg and 20 mcg and the Caverject kit is available in the strength of 20 mcg/5 syringes in one pack.
If the following side effects last or get worse, inform your doctor right away:
• Bleeding at the injection site;
• Bruising or clotted blood in the injection area;
• Erectile curvature;
• Pain at the injection site;
• Painful erection;
• Penile scarring;
• Prolonged erection
Talk to your doctor immediately if you have any of the following side effects:
• Curving of the penis with pain during an erection;
• Dizziness;
• Erection continues for longer than 2 hours with severe pain in the penis;
• Faintness;
• Flu-like symptoms;
• Pelvic pain;
• Swelling in or pain in the testes

You should not use Caverject injection as a sexual aid if you do not have ED. If this medication is not used properly, you can damage your penis permanently or lose the ability to have erections. Before you start using this medication, talk to your doctor about your medical history and abut all the medications you take including OTC and herbal medications. Caverject does not protect against sexually transmitted disease. Always use protection to decrease the risk of infections. There may be an interaction between Alprostadil and other medications such as warfarin and heparin.
