Bromday (Bromfenac Sodium) is a prescription medication used to treat postoperative inflammation and pain in patients who have undergone cataract extraction. Cataract extraction (cataract surgery) is a common eye procedure. Following the surgery, the eye often experiences inflammation (swelling, redness) and pain as part of the healing process. The active ingredient in Bromday is Bromfenac Sodium. Bromfenac Sodium belongs to a class of medications known as non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). It works by inhibiting the production of prostaglandins. Prostaglandins are natural substances in the body that play a key role in causing pain and inflammation, including in the eye. By blocking the production of these prostaglandins, Bromfenac helps reduce swelling, redness, and pain in the eye.
