Blexten (Bilastine) is a prescription medication that is used to relieve the symptoms associated with allergic skin conditions including chronic hives and itching for people older than 18 years of age. Bilastine belongs to the class of medications called antihistamines. It works by blocking the actions of one of the body’s natural chemicals known as histamines. Histamines are responsible for many of the symptoms of an allergic reaction. The recommended dose of Blexten is one tablet by mouth once a day. The effects of Bilastine may be noticed as early as one hour after taking the medication and will last approximately 24 hours.

Our Canadian Pharmacy is currently selling the brand Blexten from Canada manufactured by Aralez Pharma. There is no generic available for this medication. Blexten is available in the strength of 20 mg tablets.
Talk to your doctor if you experience any of the following side effects and they are severe and bothersome:

• Dizziness;
• Headache;
• Sleepiness
See your doctor as soon as possible if you have any of the serious side effects such as signs of heart problems like fast or irregular heartbeat or pulse, chest pain, difficulty breathing, leg swelling and sudden weight gain.

You should not take Blexten if you are allergic to Bilastine or if you have any other allergies. Before you start taking this medication, talk to your doctor about your medical history and about all the medications you take including OTC and herbal medications. This medication causes drowsiness and dizziness. You should not drive or do any activity that requires you to be alert. You should not use Blexten during pregnancy unless it is clearly needed. It is unknown if Bilastine passes into breast milk. Talk to your doctor before you breast-feed a baby. Blexten is not to be used in children less than 18 years of age. There may be a drug interaction between cyclosporine, diltiazem, antipsychotics, quinine, tetrabenazine, etc.
