Living near an airport can be hard on your hearing. A recent study suggest that it is also hard on your heart. The noise produced by jet-powered planes may increase the risk of high blood pressure, especially at night. According to statistics 40% of people living near airport for three years and longer suffer of high blood pressure and more likely to be hospitalized for heart disease and stroke.
The European Society of Cardiology insists that more work is needed to enforce laws on exposure to aircraft noise as it is detrimental to our health.
