Tygacil (Tigecycline) is a prescription antibiotic that is used to treat many different bacterial infections of the skin or the digestive system and pneumonia. Tigecycline belongs to the class of drugs known as tetracycline antibiotics. This medication works by stopping the growth of bacteria in the body. Tygacil is used for bacterial infections only.
